How to Child Proof Unity Between Black Men And Black Women by author, Lord Serious.

Every Christmas Black parents buy their little Black girls Barbie dolls, Ken dolls, Barbie dream houses, and doll babies. Likewise, every Christmas Black parents buy their little Black boys action figures, sports memorabilia, athletic equipment, and race cars.

Whether you are aware of it or not, toys reinforce social behavior. We live in a society that trains little Black girls one thing while little Black boys are being taught something totally different. However, there is nothing wrong with giving children a gender specific education, especially when that system of education deals with gender equality. It must teach boys and girls balance, and how to work in harmony with the other.

But this is not the type of education America provides Black boys and Black girls. So it is the responsibility of Black parents to teach this to their own children. When this task is done you can use toys, games, and other tactics such as dances to reinforce this training within the young psyche.

But I am afraid most Black households are falling short in this department and as a result we as a whole are failing our Black girls nationwide. Think about this:

We live in a society that subconsciously teaches Black girls that their womanhood is directly connected to their ability to find a man, make a family with him, and raise their children together in a home. This ideology is reinforced by the toys we buy Black girls.

But on the other hand, this society subconsciously teaches Black boys that they are independent and that their manhood is directly tied to their competitive nature. They must look at every one as an opponent, males and females alike, and most importantly, they must win at all cost.

So our daughters are taught the importance of uniting with the man they love and then raising a family together. While our sons are taught that life is a big game and they will win this game through their physical dominance and force, or through their guile and cunning. Yet, we wonder why there is no unity between Black men and Black women today.

I'm not suggesting that you start forcing your sons to play with your daughters toys. That would be extreme. What I'm suggesting is that we begin teaching our sons that one of the most important aspects of their manhood is fatherhood, and that this should only be achieved by uniting with a Black woman whom they love. And if they treat her like the queen she is, she will show forth her equality by bringing a better version of them both into existence.

This way we teach both the Black boy and Black girl a gender specific education that teaches each their responsibility to each other and the genetic survival of our race. This education when reinforced by other cultural rites of passage will help heal some of the anger and mistrust between our men and women. As well as help curb the cycle of unplanned pregnancies.
